Vintage Mr Ernie black faux fur hand muff/purse combo

For the vintage handbag collectors, please note the brand Mr Ernie is not the same as the “Mister Ernest” NYC vintage brand.  Mr Ernie is a different mid-century brand, quite likely a smaller boutique label or millinery brand. The fabric label with the burgundy thread within the faux fur muff/purse is incredibly characteristic of mid-century fashion manufacturing. The color combination and typography style suggest a sweet spot of mid-1950s to mid-1960s production, long before cheap plastic or printed satin labels became the norm.  The black faux fur is far more practical and wearable for everyday outfits than white or cream faux fur, which yellows over time and shows stains easily.   Dual functionality as both a hand warmer and a top hinge clutch purse makes this even more appealing.   Faux fur looks complete with no major damage. The interior has one slip pocket and opens with a hinged mechanism.  There are minor scratches above the slip pocket. Wristlet ribbon attached as well.   Measures approximately 11”H x 17”W x 8”D
