Tetsuo falls in love at first sight with the beautiful and kind-hearted Sonoko and marries her. He is a love doll craftsman and keeps this a secret from his wife. Tetsuo becomes engrossed in making love dolls, and the couple gradually stops having sex. Then one day, Sonoko reveals a long-held secret to him.

This adult love story is a film adaptation of the director's own novel, by Yuki Tanada, director of The Scars of Milena. It depicts the love and struggles of a man who makes love dolls for a living and his wife, who is unaware of his profession. Kazuki Takahashi and Yu Aoi, co-starring for the first time in 18 years since All About Lily Chou-Chou, deliver passionate performances as the eccentric couple, alongside supporting cast members including Kitaro, Eri Watanabe, and Kenta Hamano.
