Victorian English Sterling Engraved Chain Belt Necklace Regal Fleur-de-lis Cross
N/A
Let me first state this is as is. The center link is missing the applied Maltese cross piece. The chain consists of alternating star and Maltese cross links. The star links are embossed with fluer d lis. The Maltese cross sections are in a leaf shape and also embossed. In between these are pretty swirled links. The center link (missing the Maltese cross) is a circle and has been evened out so you can't see where the cross was attached. It might be nice to attach a baroque pendant of some kind here. It is signed A A V & Co with English hallmarks: Lion for sterling, Anchor for Birmingham, and small curved x for 1894. The connector is a knob and a loop of sterling to sit against. It measures 28 inches(remember they wore corsets). This could be worn as a necklace with maybe a slight adjustment to the clasp since it probably wouldn't stay closed just pushed thru like a belt, or worn off center. It weighs 94 g.
