Vintage Cutco 1714 Mix-Stir Coil Whisk Egg Beater Classic Brown Swirl Handle

VINTAGE CUTCO NO. 1714 COIL WHISK  PRE-OWNED · MADE IN USA   THE PIECE  This is a vintage Cutco No. 1714 Coil Whisk, also sold as the Mix-Stir Whisk or Egg Beater, finished in Cutco's classic dark brown and black marbled handle. The sculpted, wave-form grip was designed by noted industrial designer Thomas Lamb and is stamped with his handle patent, number 3,122,774, the same patented design used across the full run of vintage Cutco kitchen knives from this era.  The whisk head is formed from a coiled stainless steel wire loop rather than the usual balloon style wires, a design that is excellent at breaking up lumps in gravy and sauces, whisking eggs, and blending frozen juice concentrate. This style has a loyal following among home cooks who grew up with one in the kitchen drawer and say nothing else works quite the same way.
