Antique Chacara Kra Ngäbe-Bugl Hand Woven Natural Fibers Small Bag Panama  This traditional bag is a chácara (or kra) originates from Panama. It is crafted by the Ngäbe-Buglé indigenous people, who primarily reside in the mountainous region of western Panama (as well as some neighboring areas in southern Costa Rica). Finely woven with natural dyed and undyed natural cactus fiber.   The extraction of these fibers is a time intensive process. Once extracted, the fibers are then washed, dried, and bleached by moonlight – some fibers are dyed naturally using a number of plants, flowers and barks.  Approximate date: 1920s-1940s Zipper closure Measures: 5 ½ height by 5 5/8 width at widest point Strap measures 19 inches long  Condition: Overall excellent with some darkening on bottom, very minimal darkening on body, and three small spots on one side. Weaving all intact.
