Arthur Singer - Vintage "Cardinal" Print #1 of #8 Series

Vintage Arthur Singer framed bird print from the iconic State Birds and Flowers series was originally commissioned in 1957 for the American Home Magazine. This print is #1 of his 8 bird series. Featuring the Cardinal—the state bird for Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, North Carolina, Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia—this piece also highlights the iconic flora and fauna of those regions: Kentucky Goldenrod, Illinois Violet, Indiana Zinnia, North Carolina Flowering Dogwood, Ohio Red Carnation, Virginia Flowering Dogwood, West Virginia Rosebay Rhododendron. Original size of print without damage is 10 x 13.   I originally purchased this print at an auction and it was already framed. Unfortunately, when I attempted to remove it from the backing to reframe it, the tape was so old that it stuck to the paper and it ripped off part of the bottom right corner. I was able to find another print in a complete set of 8 prints. With a little creativity, and a strategically placed photo mat, this could be framed and hung. Otherwise, it is still a gorgeous print.
