1920s Antique Thuringian Germany Porcelain Vanity Tray, Mold No. 611
GERMAN THURINGIA
Antique German Porcelain Dressing Table Tray (Sèvres Style) An elegant porcelain vanity tray featuring a vibrant emerald green border with ornate, raised gold-gilt scrollwork. The center depicts a hand-painted romantic scene of a courting couple in 18th-century attire, inspired by the works of French artist Jean-Honoré Fragonard. Marked MADE IN THURINGIA on the underside, this piece was manufactured in Germany between 1891 and the 1930s as a high-quality homage to French Sèvres porcelain design. Porcelain Body: The structure is sound with no chips, cracks, hairline fractures, or professional restorations. Paint & Decal Art: The central romantic scene is vibrant, crisp, and free of deep scratches or major pigment loss. Minor marks as you would see with something of this age. Gold Gilt Work: Shows minor, age-appropriate thinning/rubbing along the highest points of the raised border scrollwork and outermost rim, which is expected for a utilitarian vanity item of this age. The gold gilt has a raised feel. Basemark: The black 'MADE IN THURINGIA' stamp is clear, fully legible, and completely intact. Smoke free environment
