Evald Nielsen Grapes Brooch Skønvirke Denmark Sterling Silver Art Nouveau Pin

A beautiful example of early Danish Skønvirke (Danish Art Nouveau) silver design by renowned silversmith Evald Nielsen (1879–1958). Commonly known by collectors as the “Grapes” pattern, this sculptural brooch features a flowing hand-modeled leaf framed by graceful openwork, accented with a stylized flower and a cluster of berries. The elegant organic lines and exceptional craftsmanship embody the Danish Arts & Crafts movement and remain among Evald Nielsen’s most recognizable jewelry designs.  Handcrafted in sterling silver (.925), the reverse is clearly hallmarked Evald Nielsen, STERLING SILVER, and 925, confirming production for the export market. It retains its original trombone safety clasp, which operates smoothly and closes securely.  Measures approximately 46.1 mm (1.81”) long x 27.0 mm (1.06”) wide and weighs 10 grams.  Condition is very good antique estate condition with light surface wear, fine scratches, and a soft original patina consistent with age and careful use. No major dents, repairs, or structural damage were observed. The sculptural details remain crisp, and the clasp functions properly.
