A gorgeous vintage serving tray featuring a hand-embroidered silk panel under glass — gold metallic thread and sequins worked into a bamboo trellis and floral design on rich red silk, with a diamond medallion motif at center. Set into a dark mahogany-stained wood frame with classic cut-out carry handles on each end.  This style of sequined metallic embroidery is traditionally associated with Ottoman/Turkish or Greek folk textile work. This piece appears to be made from (or inspired by) an antique embroidered textile fragment, mounted and framed as a decorative serving tray — a lovely bit of old-world handwork given new life.  ✨ Measures approximately 17 x 11 ✨ Felt pads on base Vintage condition — please view all photos closely. There is natural fading/wear to the silk at the center medallion and light surface wear to the wood frame consistent with age. All which give it the character that attracts you.
