YAMAHA YCR-234 Long Cornet

This is a YAMAHA B♭ cornet, model YCR-234.

In addition to the instrument itself, the following are included:
- Mouthpiece (PLAYTECH. For short cornet. Unused)
- Hard case (for transport)

This is a long (American type) cornet that was once manufactured by Yamaha.
It is also a discontinued model known as the College Model, and is considered suitable for beginner to intermediate players.

This instrument emphasizes ease of blowing and resonance, making it ideal for students and beginners.
It is also smaller than a trumpet, so it might be a good practice instrument for children who find trumpets physically difficult to play.

The tone is somewhat softer than a trumpet.
Furthermore, by using a mouthpiece for a short (British type) cornet, it is possible to produce a tone closer to that of a short cornet.
(Since I did not have a long cornet mouthpiece on hand, I have included a short cornet mouthpiece.)

Long cornets are often used in jazz, but I personally think it would be interesting to play music by American composers in a wind ensemble.
(The cornets specified by American composers are often long cornets.)

For this listing, the inside of the instrument has been cleaned with neutral detergent and cleaner.
After cleaning, it has been greased and tested for sound, so it should be ready for immediate use.

While I believe the instrument is in good playing condition, it is a used item. Please make your decision based on the photos.
