Long Cornet YCR-2310
This is a used Yamaha long cornet YCR-2310 with case, now discontinued.
I am selling it after finishing its use in orchestral performances.
I used this instrument as a substitute for Yamaha's top-line orchestral C cornet (trumpet shank, C trumpet bell), which costs around 500,000 yen, because it was too expensive.
The reason I chose a long cornet was that a short cornet with a short mouthpiece doesn't project well enough for orchestral playing.
I purchased this instrument used, had it adjusted at a repair shop, and used it for rehearsals and performances.
The instrument is in B flat, and the leadpipe is made of gold brass.
A notable feature of the Yamaha long cornet is its large 131mm bell.
It is about the size of a rotary trumpet, and its rich sound is a major appeal.
Its excellent intonation and tone quality, suitable for orchestral use, along with its light responsiveness, are its strengths.
I believe it can be used not only in orchestras but also in wind ensembles, for solos, and in jazz.
Considering its age, the lacquer is still in good condition. While there are minor scratches, scuffs, and small areas of lacquer peeling, any dents (which may have existed previously) have been repaired to an unnoticeable degree.
Please refer to the photos for the extent of rust on the slide tubes.
As this is an older instrument, please understand this point.
Due to work commitments, I will ship on weekends.
