This is a nearly new, beautiful condition Inden-ya kicchō bag in black with a black lacquer gourd pattern.
It has an inner pocket. The outer box and instruction manual are not included, but the drawstring clasp features the Inden seal.

[Kōshū Inden]

Inden is a traditional leather craft from Kōshū, where patterns are applied with lacquer onto deerskin, a craft that has been continued for many years.
Deerskin is soft and comfortable against the skin, supple, and lightweight yet durable.

This is why it has been loved for centuries as everyday tools and armor.
The process of applying lacquer patterns onto deerskin is done one piece at a time by artisans.
Various traditional patterns embody wishes for good fortune, the power of nature, and beauty. Over time, the lacquer's color and luster become more vibrant, and its sheen deepens.

Deerskin has scratches from rubbing against antlers, etc., but these are utilized as proof of its natural origin.
Deerskin can be scratched by the surface peeling or rubbing during use.
Since the texture of deerskin differs from piece to piece, slight variations in color may occur during immersion dyeing, and there may be some unevenness in color in certain areas.

There are some areas that appear to be small scuffs, possibly due to the material itself or from storage.
Additionally, there are some areas where slight dullness can be seen on the metal parts of the drawstring clasp.
These are only noticeable upon close inspection, so please refrain from purchasing if you are seeking a perfect item or are sensitive to minor imperfections.
