Victorian art glass vase with red and white swirl and ruffled rim.

Victorian art glass vase with red and white swirl and ruffled rim. Art glass, particularly pieces with vibrant colors and intricate designs like the candy cane swirl, gained significant popularity during the Victorian era. These vases were often handcrafted, showcasing the skill of the glassblower. This type of vase, characterized by its ruffled rim, double handles, and the distinctive red and white swirl pattern, is reminiscent of pieces produced by various European glass houses during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The candy cane effect is achieved by layering colored glass over a white base and then manipulating it while molten to create the striped appearance. Good condition for its age. The last picture shows a little chip on the very bottom.
