Synopsis

Amai Seikatsu. (Sweet Life.) is a drama that aired every Wednesday at 10 PM on the NTV network from July 7, 1999, to September 22, 1999.
Average viewership rating: 12.9%

A comedy depicting the series of misfortunes that befall a womanizing company employee. Rikarumaru Ukai (Sanma Akashiya), an employee of a major toy manufacturer, lives a peaceful life with his wife, Akiko (Reiko Takashima). One day, while Rikarumaru is having a meal at a restaurant with his affair partner from the same department, Kyoko Nozoe (Chiaki), he runs into Akiko, who is there for work. Kyoko inadvertently confesses their affair to Akiko.

The 。 at the end of the program title signifies that even a sweet life eventually ends.
The founder of the toy factory where Ikari and Nao work was a generous person who hired employees even if they had a criminal record.
Since the founder was deceased at the time of the first episode, Shunji Fujimura, who played the founder, appeared in a framed photograph. The employees express their gratitude to the founder during morning assemblies before starting work. However, Ikari has no criminal record. She is a junior college graduate and was the section chief and top employee, leading the factory until Rikarumaru arrived.
In the fall of the broadcast year, Hisahisa Seguchi and Chiaki appeared as guests on NTV's Odoru Odoru Odoru! Sanma Goten!! Fall Special. When asked by Toshio Kurosawa, who also appeared as a guest, about episodes from when they co-starred in the drama, Seguchi commented on Sanma's acting, saying, ...it was clearly a NG (no good). Considering the particles and prepositions in the lines, it was NG, but the fact that he made it work (didn't count it as NG, but as OK) is genius.
