1996 Tanpopo no Popo-chan Early Model People Osewa Doll Heisei Retro

This is an early model from the educational doll series Tanpopo no Popo-chan, released by People Co., Ltd. in the late 1990s.

The clothing tag reads Tanpopo no Popo-chan / 1996 People Co.,Ltd.

Unlike the current Popo-chan dolls available today, this is an early generation doll characterized by its rounded old-style face and simple expression. It's a baby doll for nurturing play, possessing a gentle atmosphere unique to the early Heian period.

It comes with its original outfit from the era: a pink polka dot dress and strawberry-patterned innerwear. The clothing tag also confirms Aijou no Okeiko MADE IN CHINA.

In recent years, early Popo-chan dolls with the Tanpopo no marking are rarely found in circulation, making this a popular model among collectors of Heian retro toys and old-style dolls.
