◎ The third installment of the Shu Qi in the 2000s Trilogy (!?), directed by Ringo Lam.
Hong Kong policewoman Shireen (Shu Qi) travels to Malaysia with her model friend Joy for a refreshing break. There, she meets Alex (Andy On) and feels he is her destined love. However, a major incident unfolds involving an arms smuggling organization... The chase scenes involving jet skis and boats midway through are reminiscent of Roger Moore's James Bond or John Woo's The Killer (personally speaking). The motorcycle action also brings Michelle Yeoh to mind. (^.^; Also, Chapman To's character is a bit pitiable? Perhaps he fills a similar role to Eric Tsang in previous films.
Regardless, this film undoubtedly captures the essence of Hong Kong cinema produced after the 1997 handover to mainland China, evident in its cast and style. (^^)／
