Apple iPod Nano A1285 DEAD BATTERY 4th Generation 8GB GREEN

When plugged in, it does not go past the apple logo screen. When it was first plugged in to charge, I was able to get to the menu with sings and everything, but after some time of it charging, it won't go past the logo screen anymore. Also, when plugged in, the screen seems to bubble a bit, but that goes away when it's cooled down.
