Description
Thank you for viewing.
We appreciate your interest.
Japan has produced many masterpieces and renowned directors in its film history, and this work is a must-include when discussing Japanese cinema.
This is a VHS tape of Yukinojo Henge directed by Teinosuke Kinugasa, who gained international acclaim for Gate of Hell. You may not know Kazuo Hasegawa's name if you are young, but he was a top matinee idol of his time. At that time, he performed under the name Chojiro Hayashi, not Kazuo Hasegawa.
This film has been remade multiple times, but this is the 1935 version.
The 1963 version starred Kazuo Hasegawa, but also featured Shintaro Katsu, Ayako Wakao, and Raizo Ichikawa. It was an all-star cast!
It may be difficult to watch VHS tapes these days, but we believe this is a valuable piece of Japanese film history. What do you think?
