A comedy directed, written by, and starring popular French actor Michel Blanc, known for films like The Tailor's Romance and Simply Irresistible. The story follows actor Michel Blanc as he gets caught up in a case involving a fake doppelganger. The film humorously explores the hidden depths of the film industry, the pitfalls of fame, and various aspects of the business, while also sending a message of support to the French film industry, which was being increasingly dominated by Hollywood. The original story is by Bertrand Blier, director of The Nanny and Tuxedo. Produced by Patrice Ledoux, cinematography by Eduardo Serra (Tango), music by René-Marc Bini, and art direction by Carlos Conti. Co-starring Carole Bouquet (That Obscure Object of Desire, Too Beautiful to Be True) and Philippe Noiret (Cinema Paradiso, Soup of the Fish). The film also features cameos from 19 filmmakers, including Charlotte Gainsbourg, Mathilda May, and Roman Polanski, appearing under their real names, which was a talking point. It won the Best Screenplay and Technical Prize (Grand Prix de la Technique) at the 1994 Cannes Film Festival.
