1950s Blue Boy Gainsborough Figurine Japan 9" Hand Painted Ceramic Classic VTG

Charming vintage hand painted porcelain figurine inspired by the classic Gainsborough “Blue Boy”, marked Japan on the underside. The figure depicts a young gentleman in a bright cobalt blue suit with yellow trim, white collar and cuffs, and knee breeches. He stands in front of a tree stump on a grassy mound base, holding his hat and cloak at his side. The glaze is glossy with nice depth of color, and the facial features are neatly painted with a soft blush to the cheeks. This mid‑century Japanese export piece displays beautifully on a bookshelf, mantel or in a Victorian or cottage style vignette.  Condition:   Overall very good vintage condition.
