■Product Description
This is a vintage hakoseko (a traditional Japanese accessory pouch) set.
The exact production and purchase dates are unknown. Thanks to being stored in a paulownia wood box, the condition is excellent.
The paulownia wood box is carefully crafted and has a unique texture.
Inside the hakoseko, you will find a paper holder, a mirror, and a cute amulet.
Please check the photos to confirm that one of the hair ornament's decorations has come off.
A hakoseko is the equivalent of a modern-day makeup pouch. It originated in the Edo period when samurai women carried their cosmetic tools in a hakoseko, tucking it into their kimono for easy access. These pouches typically held items such as a mirror, face powder, a rouge brush, paper, money, and amulets.
This set is perfect for use during Shichi-Go-San (a traditional rite of passage for young children) celebrations, or for anyone looking for an antique item.
