Miller Studio 1964 Chalkware Galleon Ship Wall Plaque MCM Nautical Pirate Art

A classic piece of mid-century American wall decor, and one of the most recognizable names in chalkware collecting. This is a 1964 Miller Studio Inc. galleon ship wall plaque, the large size at 9.5 x 8. Hand painted in the signature black and gold colorway — full sails, detailed hull, dramatic profile. Miller Studio became the leading manufacturer of decorative wall decor for the housewares trade by 1952, and the nautical pieces are among the most sought after in the line. Name is imprinted on the side as always. Good vintage condition. Paint is intact with minor age-appropriate wear — no chips, no cracks. Wire hanger on the back, ready to hang. Works beautifully in a nautical room, a study, a dark academia gallery wall, or layered into a coastal grandmillennial space. The kind of piece that looks like it's always been there. Every piece has a past. Find yours. — Sarah / The Storied House Co.
