N/A Hand Carved Wooden Bird Figurine Dark Wood 5" Tall Flat Crested Ironwood Exotic

Great preowned condition. At first I thought the top of the crest was cut off (thinking it was a quail), but I believe it to be intentional. It is smooth, and the bottom of the tail is made in the same fashion. I found a similar bird online, could be a jay from Thailand?
