This product recreates the E6 series Shinkansen Komachi, the latest bullet train connecting Tokyo and Akita, in its current form.
The E6 series began commercial operation in March 2013 (Heisei 25). Initially named Super Komachi, the train name was unified to Komachi in March 2014 (Heisei 26) with a timetable revision that made all Komachi line trains operated by the E6 series.
Furthermore, due to an increase in foreign tourists carrying large luggage, modifications were made between approximately February and August 2018 (Heisei 30) to install large luggage storage areas, resulting in some windows being filled in on cars 13, 15, and 17.
