Vintage 1988 Fisher-Price Light-Up Globe with Viewfinder • Illuminated Education

Vintage 1988 Fisher-Price light-up world globe with a built-in landmark viewfinder, a bright internal light, and a pivoting design that lets kids and adults explore geography from multiple angles. This model was produced in partnership with Nova Rico (Italy), known for their high-quality educational globes, and it’s one of the more detailed Fisher-Price versions from the late 1980s. The built-in periscope-style viewer lets you rotate the globe and see small photographs of iconic landmarks—like the Eiffel Tower—matched to different locations. A great educational piece and also a striking vintage accent for a study, library, or child’s room. Overall constructions is Made in USA. This globe lights up beautifully, rotates smoothly, and also tilts side-to-side. The blue X-base is sturdy, and the on/off switch works as intended. The white band and some of the light plastics show mild age toning, and there is a small fissure on the band near the viewfinder that is non-structural. Size • 17” tall when pulled upright • 14.5” wide at the outer band • 11.5” diameter globe sphere Condition • Light works properly (warm interior glow) • Globe rotates and tilts as designed. • Optical viewer works and shows landmark images • Mild age toning to white plastics • Small, non-structural fissure on the plastic band near the eyepiece and a few minor scuffs to globe that don't detract in any way from usability and presentation. • No cracks to the globe itself and color remains bright
