Vintage Noritake 9.5" Porcelain Handled Cake Plate Floral Design w/ Gold Gilding

This is a beautiful vintage Noritake porcelain handled cake plate (sometimes referred to as a chop plate or sandwich platter) featuring a low-relief hand-painted floral design and an elegant central gilt medallion.  The inclusion of MADE IN JAPAN (rather than NIPPON) combined with this specific style of the blue Komaru mark firmly dates this piece to the interwar period, specifically between 1921 and the early 1930s.  The pattern is a classic Art Deco / Late Art Nouveau hybrid floral style. It features a soft, hand-painted baby-blue border wash accented with delicate pink blossoms (resembling cherry blossoms or wild roses) and tiny blue forget-me-nots.
