Antique T.J. & J. Mayer "Florentine" Blue Transferware Platter – 1850s
T.J. & J. Mayer
Antique blue transferware platter by T.J. & J. Mayer, featuring the desirable Florentine pattern. Produced in Longport, Staffordshire, England, circa 1840-1855, this piece showcases detailed architectural scenes, floral borders, and a deep blue transfer typical of early Victorian pottery. The octagonal shape and intricate riverside landscape with figures and castles make it a striking display piece for any collector of English ironstone or pearlware. In great antique condition for a platter over 150 years old. Please review photos carefully for detail and condition as they are considered part of the description. Typical age related crazing is present throughout the glaze along with natural patina and discoloration to the underside. Light surface wear and minor spotting consistent with antique transferware. The Florentine pattern remains crisp and well defined. Measurements: • Length: 13.5 • Width: 10.5
