Vintage Italian Ornate Gilt Brass Pierced Footed Vanity Dresser Tray Made Italy

Vintage Italian gilt brass-tone tray with an elaborate openwork border, marked Made Italy on the underside. The heavily pierced frame is worked in scrolling Baroque flourishes, flowers, and lattice around a recessed oval center with an embossed scroll motif, and the piece rests on its own footed base. The warm gilt finish and ornate casting give it real Hollywood Regency presence.  Please note this piece originally had a center swing handle and was sold as a bread or bridal basket. That handle is no longer present, so it is being offered as a decorative footed tray. It works beautifully as a catchall for a dresser or entryway, a vanity tray for perfume and jewelry, or a standalone display object. The gilt shows light wear and patina in spots that is consistent with its age and only adds to the character.
