FENTON Vintage Blackberry Spray Cobalt Blue Carnival Glass Bowl

Fenton Art Glass Company, founded in 1905 in Williamstown, West Virginia, became one of America's premier producers of carnival glass during the early 20th century. The 'Blackberry Spray' pattern, featuring detailed fruit and leaf motifs, was produced in various iridescent colors and became one of Fenton's signature designs. The distinctive rainbow iridescence, achieved through metallic salt sprays applied during the glassmaking process, creates the characteristic oil-slick appearance visible in this piece. Carnival glass pieces like this Blackberry Spray bowl are highly prized by collectors of American art glass and vintage glassware enthusiasts. The combination of intricate pattern work, vibrant iridescent finish, and the Fenton name makes these pieces particularly desirable. Collectors appreciate both the craftsmanship and the nostalgic connection to early 20th-century American decorative arts, with complete collections often focusing on specific patterns or color variations.
