Description
NC Estate find. This is a named piece of U.S. gear. There is also a publicly documented individual named Aaron W. Plyler from North Carolina, who served in the North Carolina House of Representatives and then the NC State Senate. I am NOT claiming a confirmed match to the stenciled name—sold strictly as a named, stenciled military bag. The bag itself has several worn areas or staining in the canvas, adding to its history and patina. See photos for description and condition. It has not been washed or cleaned as I will leave that to the buyers decision. Original U.S. Army WWII–Korean War era canvas laundry/barracks bag with period stenciling. This heavy olive drab cotton duck bag is marked U.S. and stenciled with the service member name Aaron W. Plyler, along with an additional issue or inventory marking (ERI 480087-1, as shown). These bags were issued to soldiers for laundry, personal effects, and barracks storage and were commonly stenciled for identification during transport and unit storage. The construction, materials, and markings are consistent with late World War II to early Korean War production (circa 1944–1951).
