Description
Markings: The Vitreous mark is highly collectible as it represents the company's more durable, higher-quality early-20th-century production before they transitioned more heavily into semi-vitreous dinnerware.Based on the backstamp and style, your pitcher was made by the Edwin M. Knowles China Co. and is a piece of their Vitreous line (a type of hard, non-porous ceramic). The numbers on the bottom (19-1-7) are a date code. This specific format indicates the piece was likely manufactured in January 1919 (or 1917, depending on the internal factory sequence). Estimated Value
