A very rare find. This stunning blue glass boot vase / cup was likely made in Italy as a Murano glass novelty item in the 1940s - 60s. The deep cobalt color is striking, particularly with the gold leaf ornamentation—the light flourishes in the gilding add the perfect highlights. It stands 6 3/4” tall (by 4 1/4” at its widest), making it ideal as a small-medium vase, pen or utensil cup, elegant storage for just about anything, or simply a object d’art for almost any home decor. (Flowers not included) Overall excellent vintage condition with some of the expected gold loss consistent with age.
