Description
I've seen many Thangkas over the years but am no expert. What sets this piece apart is a) the delicacy of the gold parts of the handpainted mandala b) the weight of the vibrant brocade (much heavier than other Thangkas) and c) the size (41long X 26 wide). Like other thangkas this one hangs on the wall with silk and has a silk covering that rolls down to protect the painting. Sometimes Thangkas are made in Nepal and used in Tibet and sometimes they are made in Tibet. I don't know on this one. In re condition: the brocade is in perfect condition and the painting has cracks from being rolled up and unfurled. A regal piece. Because I did not know how to price this I am listing it at another site's recommended listing price of $500.
