Antique Vintage Chinese Silk Altar Banner Eight Immortals Gold Silver Threads

Beautiful condition. I have not tried to clean this but overall in looks great. There are a few minor spots, but you have to look hard for them. This piece is gorgeous. Exact time period unknown.  Please message with any questions.  Beautifully preserved embroidered Chinese tapestry, likely meant for ritual or celebratory display, depicting the Eight Immortals in vibrant color. It expresses blessings of longevity, prosperity, health, and divine protection, making it a valuable piece of cultural and artistic heritage.   The Eight Immortals often depicted crossing the sea or in celestial settings, are Taoist immortals known for their magical abilities and unique attributes.   They are beloved in Chinese art for representing good fortune, longevity, and the triumph of virtue over evil.   1. Zhongli Quan – fan or bare belly.   2. Zhang Guolao – rides a donkey backward, carries a fish drum.   3. Lu Dongbin – sword and fly-whisk.   4. Li Tieguai – iron crutch and gourd.   5. He Xiangu – lotus flower.   6. Lan Caihe – flower basket.   7. Han Xiangzi – flute.   8. Cao Guojiu – court tablet or castanets.   Their gathering symbolizes balance between yin and yang, harmony, and blessings.
