Each bone segment is decorated with pyrographed (heat-stamped) elephant silhouettes, giving it a beautiful tribal/safari aesthetic.  The dark burnt appearance of the elephants is a traditional decorating technique where hot metal stamps are applied to the bone surface to create a permanent, recessed image.
