〇 [Defective] Shinto Ritual *Shaku* (笏) - Japanese Yew Wood - Shrine Ceremony Tool - Shinto Priest (No. 8)
This is a笏 (shaku) made from Japanese yew wood. (No. 8)
I was told by the previous generation that this Japanese yew wood is from Mt. Kurai in Hida, which was acquired through a sale from the Forestry Agency during the Showa era (sale of felled trees resulting from forest road maintenance, etc.).
It is a material that is now almost impossible to obtain.
*This item, which had been finished for over 10 years, was polished again, but there were some cracks, so it has been repaired.
In the second photo, indicated by the arrow, slightly to the right of the top of the 笏, there is a vertical repair mark about 5cm long, appearing as a black line.
If you look closely, you can see the repair mark, but I don't think it will be noticeable from a distance.
...For that reason, I have also lowered the price. (^^;
Please understand that there are variations in the color of the Japanese yew wood, which is characteristic of the material.
