Yamaga Lantern
The Yamaga Lantern (Yamaga Tōrō) is a traditional craft passed down in Yamaga City, Kumamoto Prefecture.
Materials: Only Japanese paper and glue are used, with no wood or metal fittings. Also known as boneless lanterns, they are made by folding Japanese paper and gluing it together to create a three-dimensional structure. The curved parts require no overlapping edges, demanding a high level of skill to join the paper using only its thickness.
