Nikkozan Rinnoji Taiyuin - [Dragon God Hama-ya]
This is a replica of the arrow held by Torimoroka, the origin of the Hama-ya, and is carved with a rising dragon. It is a Hama-ya that lasts a lifetime.
It is said to have the power to ward off evil and grant wishes.
The Dragon God Hama-ya from Nikkozan Rinnoji Taiyuin (next to Nikko Toshogu) is a powerful amulet for warding off evil and bringing good fortune, featuring an engraved golden dragon. It offers benefits such as family safety and business prosperity, and is a highly sought-after special amulet recommended by Leon Kinoshita as a lifetime treasure.
Nikkozan was founded in the second year of Tenpyo Jingo (766). Since then, it flourished as a major spiritual site in the Kanto region, with legends of high monks like Kukai and Ennin visiting during the Heian period, and donations from Minamoto no Yoritomo during the Kamakura period. In the Edo period, the Toshogu Shrine of Ieyasu and the Taiyuin Mausoleum of the third shogun Iemitsu were built, and together with Sanbutsudo, the main hall of Nikkozan, they convey their grandeur to this day.
From around the Meiji era, Nikko became known for the three pilgrimage sites of Rinnoji Temple, Toshogu Shrine, and Futarasan Shrine. Before that, it was a single, unified major spiritual site in Kanto known as Nikkozan.
