Shinto Altar, Kitchen God, Fire God, Seizō Sanpō Dai Kōjin ō, Height 28cm
This is an Aragamidana (altar for the god of the hearth) for enshrining the Kiyosanpo Dai-Kojin-o (Sanpo Kojin) amulet bestowed at Kiyomizu-dera Temple in Kiyoshikojin, Hyogo Prefecture.
It was enshrined in the kitchen of my family home.
This is for enshrining Kojin-sama, who is worshipped as the god of the kitchen and the god of fire.
The central door is inscribed with Kiyosanpo Dai-Kojin-o.
When you open the door, the amulet is inside, but it is slightly torn. Since the amulet is something that is received annually, please take good care of it.
Also, it seems to be customary to enshrine this separately from a general kamidana (for Amaterasu Omikami, etc.).
