Description
Scientific Name: Dicranostomus nitidus

Dicranostomus nitidus is an insect belonging to the order Orthoptera, family Tettigoniidae. The scientific name of this species was first officially published by Brunner von Wattenwyl in 1895.

The genus Dicranostomus is one of the most mysterious and least studied genera, and it is unclear what purpose these mandibles are used for.
It also appears to have no official Japanese common name.

This is a 2024 specimen by insect taxidermist Takaki Fukui, who no longer accepts new pinning orders. The pinning is exceptional, with no cotton stuffing leakage in the abdomen, no wrinkles in the bellows, and antennae forming a natural arch.

We will ship the female specimen pictured, collected in Tingo Maria, Huánuco Region, Peru, at an altitude of 1600m.
It was collected in December 2021.
We apologize, but we cannot guarantee against grade reduction due to shipping.
