【Giant Female】Dragonfly Specimen A. sieboldii Strap

Scientific Name: Anotogaster sieboldii

Common Names: Oniyanma / Oni-tonbo / Uma-bito

Adult body length is approximately 70 mm for males and 80 mm for females, with a hindwing length of approximately 55 mm for males and 65 mm for females. The total length from the head to the tip of the abdomen can reach about 9-11 cm. Females are larger than males and have an ovipositor protruding from their tail end.
The compound eyes on the left and right sides touch slightly at the center of the head. The compound eyes of live specimens are a vivid green, but they turn dark brown when preserved as specimens. The body color is black, but there are yellow markings in various places, such as a ha (ハ) shaped pattern on the front of the thorax, two diagonal stripes on the sides of the thorax, and a thin horizontal stripe on each abdominal segment.

We will ship the pictured female specimen from Chiba Prefecture. It was collected on July 26, 2024. My measurement was 102mm. I believe this is an extra-large size.
