[Details]

Araogawa Shrine, located in Onikoube, Naruko Onsen, Osaki City, Miyagi Prefecture.

This is an Engishiki Jinja Shrine, considered the inner sanctuary of Araogawa Shrine in Iwadateyama.

In ancient times, there was a shrine at the summit of Mt. Araodake, called Gakugu. The founding date is unknown, but it is believed to have originated from a shrine built where water, the source of the Araogawa River, emerged from beneath the male and female stones on Mt. Araodake, enshrining the water deity and Omonoinokami.

Onikoube Araogawa Shrine enshrines five deities, including the water deity, fire deity, and mountain deity, connected to the source of water and hot springs.
Furthermore, it has long been known as a production area for swift horses, and due to the land's deep connection with horses, many visitors are expected this year.
