Ryuoka Tenmangu Shrine
[Moonlit Night Cat Goshuincho]

A luxurious goshuincho adorned with gold leaf.
Nine lucky cats in nine colors
each govern different fortunes,
completing good luck when all nine are gathered.
These beckoning, protective cats discern and bring only the connections you need.

This goshuincho is priced higher because the date is January 25th, the day of Hatsutenjin.

Founded in Tennen 2 (974) of the Heian period. By the will of the third lord, Tsunamune Date, the shrine buildings and karamon gate were newly constructed, a calligraphy by Sugawara no Michizane was enshrined, and the deity was relocated.
Matsuo Basho also visited in Genroku 2 and left a haiku.
The main benefits are academic achievement and prayer for passing exams, derived from the enshrined deity, Sugawara no Michizane. Other benefits include career advancement, good fortune and protection from evil, protection for children, traffic safety, and more.
