Watazumi Shrine, located in Tsushima City, Nagasaki Prefecture, is a sea shrine dedicated to Prince Hikohohodemi and Princess Toyotama. It is steeped in the ancient legend of the Dragon Palace. Two of the five torii gates, which stand in a straight line, rise from the sea, creating a fantastical atmosphere. Behind the shrine buildings, giant trees and ancient trees stand tall, and a rear approach is also available, enveloping the area in a solemn ambiance.
In the age of the gods, Toyotamahiko no Mikoto built a palace in this area and named it Watazumi no Miya (Sea Palace), and this place came to be known as Otohime.
