Description

This is a Chimaki (a type of good luck charm) from the Naginata Hoko float for the 2025 Gion Festival (Reiwa 7). The Naginata Hoko is a kujitorazu (a float exempt from the lottery) and leads the procession, making its Chimaki the most popular. Instructions on how to wrap the decorative paper (hakama) are provided on the inside of the bag. This year's Chimaki includes a special charm commemorating the 800th anniversary of the Naginata Hoko's creation, made by Yasuo Robin. A special bag from the Naginata Hoko Preservation Association is also included.
