This is a handmade, brand new item.
These fabric zori (straw sandals) are remade from kimono fabric, such as pure silk, silk, wool, and cotton yukata.
This particular pair is made from fine pure silk striped fabric and pure silk komon (small patterned) and shibori (tie-dyed) kimono fabric.
This is a large size, 26 cm.
The sole is also made with nylon rope, and the knot at the end of the rope may provide acupressure to the soles of your feet.
It is said that with Japanese footwear like zori and geta, it is stylish for the heel to extend slightly beyond the back.
While we're not sure if this applies to waraji (straw sandals) as well, it's perfectly fine to wear these with your heels extending beyond the back.
