Showa Retro Replacement Nibs, 3-Piece Set, WARRANTED Iridium, Platinum Group Rare Metal
10.00 $
Description
This is a set of 3 replacement nibs from the Showa era.
They are at least 60 years old. They are unused and have been stored at home. Considering their age, they are in relatively good condition (especially the two silver ones).
All of them are engraved with WARRANTED IRIDIUM, so they are definitely iridium.
The engravings on the nibs are as follows:
① Gold
WARRANTED HARDEST IRIDIUM POINTED 〈4〉SPECIAL
② Silver (long)
WARRANTED HARDEST IRIDIUM POINTED 〈4〉SPECIAL A
③ Silver (short)
WARRANTED
Daruma inside a cherry blossom mark
(H)ARDEST (I)RIDIUM
*The contents of the parentheses are inferred as the printing is difficult to read.
I believe it is unusual to have Kanji characters engraved on a nib.
Iridium is a metal in the platinum group, which is an extremely rare and precious metal. I have no idea how much is contained in these nibs, but would anyone interested like to try them?
