Handmade Small Mat, Old Fabric Scraps, Boro, Sashiko

Description
Thank you for looking.

This is a small mat with a Japanese pattern design.

Various old and new fabric scraps, mainly old cloth, are arranged and sashiko-stitched with a sewing machine.

The outer fabric is made by attaching fabric scraps such as old cloth to a thin fusible interfacing, layering it with cotton cloth, and securing it with a sashiko sewing machine.
The lining is cotton cloth with fabric scraps appliquéd.

Size: 25 cm x 34 cm

How about using it as a pot stand, a vase mat, or a slightly larger coaster?

If it develops holes or starts to fray, you could try layering other fabrics and appliquéing them for an interesting effect.

It will be shipped folded small. Thank you for your understanding.

I made this piece out of my passion for crafting and wanted someone to see it, so I decided to list it.
This is a handmade item by an amateur.
It is full of amateur charm, with uneven stitching and varying stitch spacing.
We kindly ask for your warm acceptance of old cloth, amateur, and handmade.

I also have other small mats with Japanese patterns, sashiko-stitched with a sewing machine, listed.
Please feel free to take a look if you'd like.
