This is a Hereke carpet, a representative Turkish carpet.

A durable wool Hereke carpet woven with 6 knots per centimeter. This carpet is from Sumerhal (now Sumer Holding, formerly the carpet sector under Sumerbank), which no longer exists. They had many workshops throughout Turkey and sent wonderful carpets to the world. However, due to the privatization of Sumer Holding, which encompassed Sumerhal, these carpets are no longer being woven, making them collector's items that are rarely found even in Turkey.

Hereke carpets are highly regarded worldwide for their beautiful designs, colors, and thick, dense wool weave. Those from Sumerbank (Sumerhal) are particularly high quality.

Furthermore, hand-woven carpets made from natural materials, like this one, develop softness and luster after more than 10 years of use. We hope you will cherish it for a long time.
