This noren (Japanese curtain) was made from fabric dyed with wild thistle (Noazami).
The dyeing was done in February 2026.
It is 100% cotton double gauze.
It has a very soft feel.
Wild thistle is said to be the first of the many thistle varieties to bloom in spring.
There are said to be many types of thistles.
When I collected it, there were no buds yet, and the jagged leaves were firmly attached to the ground.
The entire root was also used.
It is a refreshing olive color.
It's a gentle, warm earth tone, contrasting with the painful thorns.
